Orange County – Less filing, More productive

Filing, every Eligibility Technicians’ nightmare! Since CalWIN implementation I have noticed that I do less filing. Yes, less filing and more productive work. My interview techniques have also changed from non-structured interview to a more structured, more interactive interview. As I move forward in the queue, the queue will “queue” me to ask my clients the questions that are needed to determine eligibility and request for any verification needed. My interview time may take a little longer than before but I noticed in the end, when it is time to process my cases I can do so with minimum errors or discrepancies and have the cases ready to be sent out to continuing and/or suspense – I save time!
CalWIN also provides case comments from other programs that my clients have applied for. Any discrepancies would be cleared before actions are taken to process my cases. I am able to control my deadlines, my appointments, and my work more effectively. In a way I feel that CalWIN has grounded me as worker. The one thing I wish CalWIN can do for me is file my client’s returned mail and homeless mail :-)
